Importing a Halo 1 Model into Halo 2
You may have to use the FP model since the 3rd person one tends to corrupt. In this tutorial, you will learn how to inject a model from Halo 1.

What you will need
-A modded Xbox (duh)
-Darkmatter
-HMT (Halo Map Tools)
-DotHalo
-A halo 2 map with mainmenu.map and shared.map
-A Halo 1 map with UI.map and bitmap.map

First, open up a Halo 2 map Darkmatter and browse to the MODE tag:

Expand the MODE tag and browse to the model you want to replace:

In the Model Viewer set the LOD to the highest one avalible:

Click export:

Save it to your desktop:

Go to your desktop and open up the folder that is named what the model is named:

Open up a halo 1 map in HMT and browse to the MODE tag for xbox or mod2 for PC:

Browse to the tag you want and extract the first model on the list:

Click yes to this thingey:

Save it to your desktop:

Go to your desktop and copy your model:

Paste it to your H2 model directory:

Take the file battle_rifle.gun.base[0][0][0] and delete it. Rename the file you copied to battle_rifle.gun.base[0][0][0]:

Repeat for all models.

Now import it back to your Halo 2 map:

Save the meta in it’s own directory:

Now click recursive and click inject meta:

Find the directory you saved the meta to and click OK:

And wait for it to say done:

Making a weapon use the model

Open your map in Insolence and browse to the tag you injected.

For my model, it is objecs\weapons\rifle\battle_rifle\battle_rifle

There should be 2 of them. Select the second, right click, and select rename:

Once it’s done renaming, close insolence and open the map up in Dothalo

Browse to the WEAP tag you want to make into your newly made model:

Go into the dependency window and select the MODE tag:

Swap it for the one you injected and click save changes:

Now go into the weapon’s HLMT tag:

Go into dependencies, swap it back to dependencies, and swap the mode for the one you injected then click save changes:

Keep dothalo open for the next section

Fixing the battle rifle shaders

When you inject over the battle rifle model, the scope and number shaders make it look messed up in-game. As a result, you have to null out these shaders.

Open up your map in Dothalo and browse to the mode tag you injected:

Go into dependencies and null out the lens, tens, and ones shaders:

Fix encryption, close the map, and FTP.
